Italian design, colour and craftsmanship

For more than a century, Bitossi Ceramiche has been creating distinctive ceramics in Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany — an area with a centuries-old tradition of ceramic production.

The company became particularly celebrated during the mid-20th century through its collaboration with designer and artistic director Aldo Londi. His bold forms, rich glazes and highly textured surfaces helped create a distinctive style that remains instantly recognisable today.

Perhaps the best known is Rimini Blu, introduced in the 1950s and characterised by its extraordinary shades of blue and hand-decorated geometric patterns. Londi's designs include an array of wonderfully characterful animals alongside sculptural vessels and decorative objects — pieces that feel as striking in a contemporary interior today as they did when first created.

Bitossi continues to produce ceramics in Italy, combining its design heritage with traditional craftsmanship and contemporary production.
