A wonderfully stylised giraffe from IKEA's discontinued MARKNIVÅ collection, dating from 2009.
Made from aluminium with a warm brass-coloured finish, the giraffe has an elegant elongated silhouette and a richly textured surface inspired by the animal's distinctive markings. Its exaggerated proportions give it a wonderfully sculptural quality with more than a hint of mid-century style.
Dating from 2009, it's not quite vintage – but getting there! A quirky piece of discontinued IKEA design that's perfect for a shelf, bookcase or mixed collection.
This example also retains its original IKEA labels, a lovely detail confirming its provenance.
