Lorna Bailey Charles Rennie Mackintosh-inspired vase, produced at Old Ellgreave Pottery in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
An impressive larger example based on the designs of celebrated Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The vase combines an elegant flared form with a striking geometric design in cream and black, centred around a stylised deep red Mackintosh rose with subtle green and burgundy detailing.
Strong vertical lines and lattice-style decoration give the piece a wonderfully architectural quality, balanced by the softer floral motifs so closely associated with Mackintosh's distinctive style.
Standing approximately 25.5cm tall, this larger version has excellent presence and makes a particularly striking standalone display piece.
The underside carries the Old Ellgreave Pottery backstamp, stating that the piece is based on the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and is hand signed Lorna Bailey.
