A beautifully sculptural ceramic bird by Otto Keramik, Germany, finished in the rich and distinctive Peru glaze.
The simple rounded form is brought to life by layers of deep moss green, dark brown and vivid orange. The colours flow naturally into one another, creating wonderful variation across the surface and giving this little bird a surprisingly bold presence.
Contemporary in production but strongly influenced by the expressive colours and glazing associated with 1970s West German ceramics, each Otto piece has its own individual character created through the glazing and firing process.
Maker: Otto Keramik
Form: Bird
Glaze: Peru
