A striking large vintage ceramic vase by Scheurich Keramik, one of the best-known names in West German pottery.
Standing an impressive 40 cm tall, the vase has a strong architectural form with a tall cylindrical body, shaped neck and wide flared rim. A warm speckled cream glaze is combined with deep brown bands and a vibrant burnt-orange central panel, finished with fine horizontal detailing.
The rich earthy palette and bold graphic design are wonderfully characteristic of 1970s West German ceramics. Its substantial size gives the piece real presence, making it equally suited to a collection of vintage European pottery or as a standalone statement piece in a contemporary interior.
The vase retains its original Scheurich paper label to the front.
