Three Craws Finds
Some things are just too good to leave behind
Not everything needs a famous name, an important maker or a place in a collector's guide.
Sometimes you spot something and it simply makes you smile.
Three Craws Finds is our most personal collection — an ever-changing assortment of pieces that caught our eye, stirred a memory, made us curious or simply refused to be left behind.
There are no strict rules here.
It might be a wonderfully quirky piece of studio pottery, a vintage animal, an unusual piece of design or something whose maker remains a complete mystery.
It might cost a little.
It might cost rather more.
The price isn't what makes it a Find. The feeling is.
A little bit of nostalgia
Objects have a wonderful way of taking us back.
Sometimes it's a shape you remember from your grandparents' house. A colour that instantly feels like the 1970s. Something that reminds you of childhood, a holiday, a person or a place.
And sometimes you can't quite explain the connection at all.
We love that.
Not everything we surround ourselves with needs to be important in the traditional sense. Sometimes an object matters simply because it means something to us.
Three Craws Finds leaves plenty of room for nostalgia — for those pieces that make you say:
“Oh, I remember those!”
Why Three Craws?
Crows are naturally curious creatures.
They're clever, inquisitive and famously attracted to interesting things.
We understand the problem.
Three Craws Collectables was built around much the same idea: looking beyond the obvious, spotting something interesting and bringing it home for a closer look.
Our other collections have clearer identities — Lorna Bailey, Otto Keramik, West German pottery and art glass.
Three Craws Finds is different.
It's where instinct gets the deciding vote.
It's not about the price
One of the things we particularly wanted from this collection was somewhere that didn't have a price threshold.
A fabulous little object doesn't become less interesting because it costs £20.
And an unusual or exceptional piece doesn't stop being a Find because it costs considerably more.
Some will be affordable little treats. Others might be serious pieces of design that simply don't belong neatly within our other collections.
What connects them isn't value.
It's character.
The ones that caught our eye
A Three Craws Find doesn't have to be rare.
It doesn't need an important signature on the bottom.
And it certainly doesn't need an impressive provenance.
What it does need is something about it.
Perhaps it's beautifully designed.
Perhaps the colour is fabulous.
Perhaps it's handmade, nostalgic, slightly eccentric or wonderfully decorative.
Perhaps it makes us laugh.
Or perhaps it's a ceramic giraffe sitting down with an extraordinarily long neck.
We make no apologies. 😁
Vintage, contemporary — and occasionally a mystery
You'll find a mixture of ages and origins here.
Some pieces will be vintage and clearly identifiable. Others might be relatively recent examples of good or interesting design that we think deserve another home.
And occasionally we'll find something whose maker we simply can't establish.
We enjoy the detective work, but we won't turn a guess into a fact just to give something a more impressive description.
If we know who made it, we'll tell you.
If there's a well-supported attribution, we'll explain it.
And if we genuinely don't know, we'll say so.
A mystery can still be a great Find.
Buy what makes you smile
Collecting can sometimes become terribly serious.
Maker. Date. Pattern. Rarity. Value.
We love discovering all of those things too — there's nothing quite like finally identifying an intriguing piece.
But sometimes there is only one question that really matters:
Do you love it?
Homes are personal places. The things we choose to put in them should be personal too.
Something doesn't need to be rare or valuable to make you smile every time you walk past it.
And sometimes it's the slightly odd things that give a home the most personality.
Why we love the Finds
This is probably the collection that tells you most about Three Craws Collectables.
It's where we can follow our instincts.
No particular maker.
No particular decade.
No particular country.
No particular price.
Just interesting things looking for their next home.
Some will be beautiful.
Some will be nostalgic.
Some will be unusual.
And some might be just a little bit bonkers.
We hope you'll enjoy discovering them as much as we enjoy finding them.
And perhaps, every now and again, you'll spot something that gives you that same feeling we had when we found it:
“I don't know why, but I absolutely love the thought of that.”
